On February 7th, 2017, at least seven tornadoes touched down in Louisiana. The band of storms caused major damage prompting Governor John Bel Edwards to declare a state of emergency and urge residents to take shelter. But while most were seeking shelter, our team was jumping into action to deploy eight 2-megawatt generators to Felixville, LA to keep a pipeline booster station operational.
The Colonial Pipeline runs from Houston, TX to Linden, NJ carrying nearly 100 million gallons of fuel per day. The 2500 mile pipeline depends on booster stations which help propel the fuel through the pipeline to 267 marketing terminals across the East and Southeast. Without the booster stations, people in the Northeast, who were under blizzard conditions, would not have access to the heating oil they needed to heat their homes.
So, Tuesday morning, our team in Pearland TX, prepared and transported all eight 2 megawatt generators, along with portable transformers and cable, to the Felixville LA booster station. Below are photos of our team hard at work, paralleling and connecting a total of 16-megawatts of power. What a great job!
